401(k) Optimizer® Subscription

When do I receive my recommendations?

Your first recommendations will arrive within two business days of signing up for the 401(k) Optimizer®. After that, you will receive notifications for quarterly recommendations and HCM-BuyLine® recommendations. All recommendations will be sent via email and/or text messaging.

What is your process for making my recommended investments?

The 401(k) Optimizer® analyzes each fund in your investment lineup to categorize and rank them and then use your risk tolerance and the HCM-BuyLine® to develop recommended allocations for your account.

I’m having trouble logging in

How do I reset my password?

To reset your password, go to the login screen and select forgot password. You will be prompted to enter your email address, and an email will arrive within a few minutes to your email inbox with a link to reset your password.

Are you saving my credit card information?

The 401(k) Optimizer® does not store any of your credit card information. Everything is processed through PayPal.

Getting Started

What do I need to get started?

  1. Basic personal info: name, email address, phone number, and DOB
  2. Company Plan info: Company Name (Coca-Cola, Delta, etc), account balance, investment options (only needed if your company is not in our system already)
  3. Credit Card

How much does the service cost?

The subscription for individuals costs $9 a month or $108 a year plus a 10% discount for paying annually. Advisor pricing is also available. Please contact a wholesaler at 1-800-314-0150 for details.

How do I pay for my individual subscription?

When signing up for the 401(k) Optimizer®, you will be prompted to enter your credit card information. Should you ever need to update your payment after signing up, please log in and view your billing preferences in Account Settings.

My advisor gave me a promo code. How do I sign up?

You will need to enter the promo code on the payment step of the sign-up process. Click here to get started.

My employer doesn’t offer the 401(k) Optimizer®- can I use your services?

Yes! You do not have to sign up for the 401(k) Optimizer® through your employer. Click here to get started.

I have two retirement accounts. Can I connect to both?

You can connect more than one retirement account to your 401(k) Optimizer® account. Once you set up your first account, you can add any additional accounts by clicking Add Account in the Welcome box at the top of your dashboard.

My spouse and I share an email address. Can we set up separate accounts?

You must use a unique email address for separate accounts on the 401(k) Optimizer®. However, you can share an account with your spouse. To get started, sign up for the first account. Once established, add the second account in the Welcome box at the top of your dashboard.

What if my company does not come up when I search for it during Sign Up?

Our database may not have every company plan ready to go. If you cannot find your company, select “Not Listed”. Then you can add your company to our system by providing the company name and a document containing a complete list of the investment options.

General Questions

What is the HCM-Buyline®?

The HCM-BuyLine® is our proprietary trend indicator designed to signal when to enter and exit the market aiming to avoid losses on the downturn while seeking gains during market upswings. Click here to learn more.

What does SDBA mean?

What type of retirement account can I use with the 401(k) Optimizer®?

The 401(k) Optimizer® can help you manage your 401(k), 403(b) or 457 accounts. For Thrift Savings Plans, please sign up for the TSP Optimizer®. For self-directed brokerage accounts and variable annuities, please contact your advisor and ask about your options with Howard Capital Management.

Do you manage Traditional IRA’s or Roth IRAs?

The 401(k) Optimizer® does not provide recommendations for Traditional nor Roth IRA’s. Please contact your advisor and ask about your options with Howard Capital Management.

What if I have the option to invest in a self-directed brokerage account?

Reach out to your advisor to learn more about the self-directed brokerage account (SDBA) opportunities. If third part management is available through your plan, you could have the ability for the account to be managed for you. Click here to learn more. If you don’t have an advisor, please contact us and we can help you find one in your area.

I have non-publicly traded funds in my account. Can I use the 401(k) Optimizer®?

Most non-publicly traded funds, or separate accounts, have a corresponding mutual fund. If there is not, we will research the manager and investment style to determine the appropriate proxy fund.

What if my recommendations contain a fund that is not offered on my plan?

Every once in a while, retirement plans will update some of their investment options for their clients. If a fund in your recommendations is no longer offered please upload a complete list of your plan investment options so we can update it in our system. You can submit plan documents by clicking “Upload Plan” on the Recommendations section or by emailing them to support@401koptimizer.com. Please provide a complete list of your investment options so we can make sure that the plan is completely up to date.

My company changed plans, how do I upload the new investment options.
